Appears to be the day book of Eli Taylor concerning his business dealings, debts and/or credits, as well as an alphabetical Ledger. Also includes a strange poem on the last page regarding the author listening to a friend who talks about his art skills incessantly and so the author commissions a flat bottomed kettle. "Publick Instrument of Protest" written by "Notary Publick" Nesbitt detailing Captain Taylor's intended voyage from Boston to Gibraltar, in which the sloop, Little Betsey, acquired multiple leaks in transit and cargo was not able to be delivered. Other parties involved were Robert Hosea (or Hosey) and John Godard. Three liquid stains that moderately effect text (see image). Small losses at folds of paper and left edge.
